The Power of Affirmations

I’ve been using daily affirmations as a tool to nurture myself and my energy for several years now. Writing down affirmations, and repeating them to myself in the mirror, has been a powerful practice for me to manage my mindset. It’s also helped me feel more empowered and aligned during stressful times.

So for this post, I want to talk about the power of affirmations, and share some of my favorites with you.

What’s an affirmation, you ask? Well, if you google the definition it says “emotional support or encouragement”, which sums it up quite nicely. An affirmation, to me, is simply a personal phrase that can be repeated to oneself as self-motivation, self-encouragement, & self-love.

Sometimes life gets challenging and we may feel like the entire world is out to get us. We all know that’s typically not the case, but I know what it’s like to feel bombarded with intrusive thoughts that say otherwise.

One negative thought often leads to another, and before you know it, you’re caught up in the storm of negative thinking, and it can truly feel unintentional—as wild as that may sound.

In those moments where I feel down & defeated, using positive affirmations has helped me take control of my mindset and get back to feeling like myself. I just have to remember to slow down, breathe, repeat some simple truths to myself, and suddenly life is less burdening.

Really, it’s that powerful. Affirmations are like subtle magic manifestations.

And don’t just take my word for it, Psychologists also support the use of affirmations for positive personal change. New studies have shown that we are able to re-wire our brains and build new neural pathways within our subconscious mind.

There is power in what we think to ourselves & how we talk to ourselves—because it makes up what we believe about ourselves at the subconscious level.

Try incorporating positive affirmations into your self-talk and see how it affects your mindset! You can see my favorite personal examples below, or try coming up with some of your own.

My Favorite Affirmations:

  1. I am my greatest investment
  2. I live my life with intention and direction
  3. I am focusing on what I can control, and letting go of what I can’t
  4. I am able to achieve anything I set my mind to
  5. I am a force of nature, made of stardust and dreams
  6. I am creating the best version of myself every day, with every moment, I will always be growing into a better me
  7. I am letting go of negative energy that weighs me down
  8. I am focused on the good in my life, and learning how to add more good to my life
  9. I am grateful for my body, my health and the opportunity to experience life
  10. I am still learning, I am ever changing, I accept and love myself in all forms

If you want to add a more ✨witchy vibe✨ to your affirmation rituals, you could try using some sage in your space. Clear out the intrusive thoughts and negative energies while you fill your mind with the affirmations that are true to you.

Sometimes I like to write down my affirmations, meditate on each of them for awhile, do some yoga while I think them to myself, and then sage my space for the final cleanse. I come out of this ritual feeling like an empowered goddess every time—works like a charm.

Affirmations are a simple, yet powerful tool, for controlling your mindset & living a happier life.

Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments if you have any words or affirmations that resonate with you, or if you have any rituals you’d like to share.

Namaste.
